PNG children receive Bible storybooks

Lutheran Heritage Foundation (LHF) is working in Papua New Guinea. I just received the following update on their exciting work:

The Word at Work in Papua New Guinea:

“The kids couldn’t even wait ’til the end of the service; they just started grabbing the books and reading!”

I recently travelled to PNG, one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever seen, to begin distributing LHF’s Tok Pisin edition of A Child’s Garden of Bible Stories. At Irylea Lutheran Church, nestled in PNG’s central highlands, over 400 people gathered for a special dedication service, where the books were first given to Lutheran Sunday school teachers. Never before had they had materials in their own language they could use to teach children about the love of Jesus.

(To see more photos and read more about this trip, click here.) They couldn’t wait to start reading how God made the world, how Adam and Eve sinned, and how God gave them a Savior so that they could one day live with Him in heaven.

Friends, this is what LHF’s work is all about and why your prayerful support is so important: Through these books, God calls His children to Him.

Take another look at the photo above, especially at the two children who are reading. Two people here in America decided to send LHF $5 each. Two children are now reading about Jesus. How will God use your gifts?

Please consider how you can help LHF share the Good News, and thank you for your continued support.
