The Natural Knowledge of God – a review

natural knowledge of godThe Lord be with you

As our culture moves away from faith in the Bible as the word of God, many Christians find it difficult to witness. What sort of common ground do we have? This is the same problem that the Early Church had. It is the same problem that missionaries have when they cross over into a non-Christian culture. The Commission on Theology and Church Relations of the LC-MS, back in April 2013, released a booklet titled: The Natural Knowledge of God in Christian Confession & Christian Witness. This little study (just over 60 pages) is another excellent offering from the commission. The report covers topics like Natural Revelation, Natural Knowledge, Natural Theology, Natural Religion and Natural Law. It is concise and well written.

For those who have wondered about what common ground we might find in our conversations with those who hold religious views that differ from our own (including those who profess no religion), I can give this a very strong recommendation.
