Founded in 2001, Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest and most-used evaluator of charities. Their mission is to provide donors ratings of a charity’s efficiency and productivity that is objective and Quantitative.
Charity Navigator published a very high score of Orphan Grain Train (OGT) in early December 2015. Why is this important? A high score means our organization is efficiently run, that donor dollars are spent properly, and that contributions can feel confident in supporting us. OGT’s headquarter offices in NORFOLK, NE recently posted this statement on their website:
“Orphan Grain Train is excited to share that Charity Navigator has placed OGT on their Top 10 Top Notch Charities list! We have also earned an Overall Rating of 99.80, which includes a perfect 100 with Accountability and Transparency! ‘At Charity Navigator, high-performing charities excel in three areas: (1) financial (2) accountability & transparency and (3) results. The top ten Top Notch Charities not only earn the highest 4-star rating for their Financial health, but they also earn 4-stars in Accountability & Transparency. The Top Notch Charities adhere to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and that they execute their missions in a fiscally responsible way.’” It is an outstanding accomplishment to be placed on the Top Notch Charities list ranked by Charity Navigator.
